To Austin we go and I couldn't be more excited for a 3 day weekend. Yes, I know it's already Thursday but the countdown is on. I have lived in Dallas pretty much my whole life and I have never been to Austin before! Everyone has looked at me like I am crazy so I'm not offended if you're a fellow Texan thinking the same thing. I have heard great things so I am already excited about the trip. Me Time
In this fast paced world we live in, it's important to set time out and enjoy some me time. It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day hustle that we often forget to sit back and relax. It's not easy for me to unplug and reflect, but I make the time. Whether that's framing an old wedding picture or painting my nails with a new shade for fall, it's the little things that inspire me and keep me calm and collected. Fresh flowers are also easy on the eyes. I'm telling you, just the aspect of fresh flowers really changes the feeling in my house. I actually want to keep it clean and organized. Ha, maybe they should be a weekly thing? Oh and did I mention my love for chocolate? Not just any chocolate, Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles. These irresistible truffles are a must. It's no secret that I love black and white. A few weeks ago when I was "grocery shopping" at Target (y'all do that too right?) I stumbled upon this beauty of a dress! Like I couldn't believe it was a Target find. The material feels nice and it isn't sheer. Major plus. I knew the Roxanne Chain Necklace from Shop Simply Lush was the perfect thing to pair with it. Do in Dallas | TX State Fair
It's no secret that I love the fair. Not just any fair, but the Texas State Fair. Nothing is quite like it. It's a great time of year for many reasons... 1. Fall is quickly approaching 2. Cooler weather is on the way (hopefully!) and 3. It takes me back to sweet memories with my husband. We go to the fair every year and always partake in one crazy food item and one Fletcher's Corn Dog. This year I didn't get to crazy and just went straight for the fried oreo. So good! If you are coming to the fair I recommend this site to help guide you. It gives you a detailed schedule of all the events and fills you in on all the delicious food options. My top picks- Fletcher's Corn Dogs (a must), fried oreos, bacon cinnamon rolls, fried nutella (didn't try it but everyone who did raved about it), and salt water taffy. Card Swag
Business cards? What are those? That's how I felt when people asked me for one and I looked like a deer in the headlights since 1. I didn't have any because 2. who the heck would want my business card. To my surprise, opportunities came to to where I needed some card swag and was empty handed. Like, I'm writing down my info on a Post-It. In Neiman Marcus. That's professional.
With that being said, I was convinced to get on this. I really wanted letterpress, but thought for the first time maybe not. Let's just see how this round goes and maybe I'll make the investment next time around. I wanted a design that was simple and clean but also incorporated my brand. I love how they turned out. I can't take credit for these though, my husband actually designed these. He is pretty stinkin' good in my opinion. I printed them from moo.com and couldn't be happier.
