It's no secret that I love cardigans. I've worn my fair share of the classic cardigan back in my teaching days, but I love this Textured Wool Cardigan from French Connection. I also am excited to share that it is an extra 30% off code "XTRA30".
I've been wearing this cardigan non stop. It's an unexpected twist on the classic style we all know, and is the perfect option to throw over a blouse or sweater. If you're liking the monochromatic look, I suggest pairing it with these ivory cords and these metallic flats (or these nude flats).

Tan Boyfriend Blazer
It's no secret I love a good blazer. The ease of pairing it with a tank top and skinny pants is just one of the many reasons a blazer is my go to. When I was in New York last month, I stumbled upon this '70s Longline Blazer in Topshop. I've had my eye on a tan blazer for months and loved the fit and length of this version.
A blazer can totally transform any outfit. Gone are the days where blazers are only to be worn in the workplace. Personally, I love to wear a blazer with boyfriend jeans, heels and a t-shirt. I've also been able to wear some of my favorite Summer dresses in the fall by simply throwing on a blazer to complete the look and update it for the new season.
Do you have any blazers? How do you wear them?

Sweater Vest & Aviators
When it comes to functionality in accessories, sunglasses are near the very top of the list. Whether it's a classic pair of aviators or an oversized cat-eye, they are the perfect necessity year round.
Since sunglasses are an accessory that I wear nearly everyday, I’m okay with making an investment in a quality pair that I love. However, I have found quite a few at Nordstrom that are under $150 and still great quality. A friend of mine has these and I could not believe they were under $100. I also love this pair by Le Specs. It’s fun to see all of the different eyewear trends that emerge, but I always go back to the classics. Lately, I’ve been alternating between my Ray-Ban Large Aviators and this round pair by Chloe.

Pattern Play: 3 Easy Tips for Mixing Prints
Inevitably, I don't always find myself wearing prints or patterns. I guess I'm more of a minimalist based on the clothes hanging in my closet and can find bold prints sometimes daunting. That is until I saw this dress and striped shawl. However, when I first saw the two, I had no plans to wear together. I actually wore the shawl here and it was then that I realized it might compliment the dress (that and my latest obsession with Gossip Girl might have inspired me).
I admit, pattern mixing can be intimidating. But I've found a few tips that have helped me a long the way.
1. First Things First
Pick one thing at a time. It helps to find one statement piece, then lay other options around it to see what is the best accent. Colors, Textures and Scale all play a part in finding the right accent piece and laying the options out helps you see how well they compliment each other.
2. Seeing Stripes
When all else fails, start with stripes. A great piece of fashion advice that I heard years ago, was to treat stripes as a neutral. Meaning, don't be afraid to pair it with leopard, florals, or other geometric prints. This is a great place to start for those who are intimidated by patterns. ...
Oversized Sunglasses
While we tend to think of Summer as a time to invest in a new pair of sunglasses, I couldn't help but search for a new pair just in time for Fall. Sunglasses have always been a favorite accessory of mine and I recently set out to find a new pair in a brown/burgundy tone.
Having a round face myself, I find the best shapes to lean towards are those with rectangular lenses; this offers structure and will refine your look. I found these frames by Chloe at Nordstrom and I couldn't pass up the color and oversized fit. After reading reviews, they seem to be appropriate for most face shapes. I also saw this version for under $100 and they had a very similar fit & frame style.
Sunglasses can be a great investment, especially if you opt for a classic pair, rather than something super trendy. I've had my ray-bans for 3 years and the aviator frame is still going strong. Another pair that I often hear great things about is this Cat Eye frame from Tory Burch. I love the beige tortoise color!
Which frame style do you love the most? I have these on my Christmas list, but would love to hear your picks.

Buffalo Plaid with Charming Charlie
I love to wear plaid year round, but there's something about Buffalo Plaid that is perfect for Fall. While the traditional red is festive (and a crowd favorite), I'm always a sucker for neutrals. I just love the versatility of this beige and black scarf. It's my ideal color palette, cozy and not too busy.
I usually prefer larger checks when it comes to accessories or coats, and I have loved sporting this cozy plaid scarf from Charming Charlie around town. It’s the perfect little layer to throw on for casual outings and now that the weather has finally cooled down, it's always on hand!

The Layered Sweater
A few weeks ago, I wore this layered sweater during our girls weekend in Denver. At the time, it was too warm to wear in Dallas, so I was excited to have the opportunity to sport this top while in Colorado.
This layered look is a go-to for me during the fall. You may have noticed that I love oversized sweaters or tops and this one takes the cake with the built in layered hem!
A few of you asked about the details from our trip to Denver, so I wanted to be sure and tell you guys about our favorite places. My favorite place for brunch was Snooze. We went to the location near Union Station and really liked walking around the building while we waited for our table. The omelets and pancakes were amazing! We had the best time here. I highly recommend checking it out. If you're looking for a unique lunch experience be sure to check out Avanti. Think indoor food trucks, with a cozy, vintage atmosphere. The rooftop bar was pretty also pretty neat and gave us a great view. For dinner, we loved eating at Linger (tip: make reservations). The food was delicious and perfect for sharing. If you're in the mood for a sweet treat be sure to hit up Little Man Ice Cream. Even if it is freezing outside, it's still worth ...
