Red & Navy Stripes

Red & Navy Stripes

Usually I steer clear of red. I've just never liked the color on me, unless its in the form of nail polish or lipstick. However, my thoughts changed when I saw this maxi at Gap. The navy and red were the perfect mix and just what I needed for my vacation. I loved pairing it with my panama hat and straw tote for that nautical look.  Looking at it now it would also make the perfect fourth of July ootd! Ha, next year I guess! ...

In My Beach Bag

In My Beach Bag

It's been a while since I've done a "What's In My Bag" post so it was only fitting that I did one for the beach divas out there. While in Jamaica, I seemed to have "a lot" of essentials. My husband told me it wasn't practical to tote around all my stuff so I had to limit myself to the necessities.  I took along my trusty One Truffle, No. 1 Clarity Pouch, because it's plastic canvas is ideal for beach conditions. If it gets wet, no big deal! These are a few life savors when it comes to a day in the sun. What are your beach necessities? NEUTROGENA sunblock // EVIAN hydrating spray // KIEHLS lip balm // SUN BUM

Jamaica Is For Lovers

Jamaica Is For Lovers

Who knew one year of marriage would fly by? Although we had our official one year anniversary in March, we were able to finally celebrate last week. We are huge fans of the "all inclusive" concept. It's just so easy. We went to Sandals St. Lucia for our honeymoon and LOVED every second. We knew we wanted a similar experience. We decided to try out Jamaica. Neither of us have ventured to that part of the Caribbean so it was a new and exciting experience for both of us. This week I will be sharing more pictures of our trip...stay tuned!

The Packing List | Jamacia

The Packing List | Jamacia

SHOP THE POST Happy Monday everyone! I am pretty pumped this morning because the hubs and I are off to Jamaica  to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Hello, beach!  We are so excited to have our toes in the sand and a fruity drink in hand.  I've put together a little list of fun beach must haves that will be accompanying me on our trip...and some that would just be nice to have! These GOLD & GRAY tassel bracelets are a must must must! Since we will be out of the country, I will be taking a little break from this little blog. However,  you can follow along via  instagram to see more of my trip! I hope you all have a great week and thanks for stopping by! ...

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July. Maybe you're extra lucky and not having to go back to work today. I definitely enjoyed spending time with family and friends and celebrating this great country. Today I am sharing my favorite look of the summer, the little white dress. I wore this dress last night because I figured this was a fitting look for the holiday and most important,  super comfortable. Texas is having unseasonably cool weather,  so we couldn't help but take our evening outside. Our night consisted of shopping, eating,  Despicable Me 2, more eating and fireworks. This J Crew dress/tunic is super easy to wear and can easily be dressed up with some wedges or worn to the beach as a swim suit cover up.  I chose to pair it with my usual LV tote and jazzed it up with some spike-alicious sandals. Safe to say I will be sporting this look all summer.

Fourth Of July Prep

Fourth Of July Prep

With the upcoming holiday I can't help but feel inspired by red white & blue. I'm not one for being over the top festive when it comes to my outfit selections, but here are a few that are just the right amount of patriotic. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy a hot dog or two!

Beauty Talk | Wedding Proof

Beauty Talk | Wedding Proof

Packing is hard for me.  I am very indecisive and it takes me forever to figure out what I want to bring, especially when it comes to products.  Obviously I can't take everything.  Although, if you've traveled with me, you may think I do. I realized it was time to bring out the big guns. I had to choose items that were small in size and could withstand late nights, long days and lots o' celebrating.  This was an easy choice considering I have been a loyal fan of all of these goodies for a while. Some were even used for my wedding and they definitely did they trick. Here's my must haves for products that will last all day and through the night. Enjoy!!

CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE in Passion : Great lipstick that is moisturizing yet lasts hours. It's almost like a stain. This will definitely be my go to lip color for the weekend.

WELLA Stay Firm Hairspray: Can you say humidity resistent? This baby is amazing. I use just a little bit over long curls to give a subtle hold. This can definitely be a firm hold, so a little goes a long way. Also, have UV protectors to protect color from fading. Nice!

Oversized Tee

Oversized Tee

One of my favorite summer staples is denim roll ups and a soft oversize tee. It gives off an "effortlessly chic" vibe yet it's completely practical in this 95+ degree heat. My go to shorts for summer are denim roll ups.  I haven't quite gotten into the whole "cut off" trend yet, so this is as close as I go. This shirt was a completely random yet amazing find at Forever 21. I love the soft cotton and oversized look. This necklace is just what this outfit needed to complete the look. Made by my fellow Texas gal pal,  Cathryn. You may remember her from here and here. I know I carry this Blair Ritchey clutch around everywhere but it's my favorite. Worth every penny.  Now on to some exciting news. I am flying out tonight to Illinois for April's wedding! It's finally here and I am so excited for her and Odie.  It shall be a glorious occasion and I can't wait to celebrate with all of our closest friends.
